What do you think about EXPO?

We have asked to students of each country their opinions about Expo.

Belgian: Expo has good and bad aspects. On one side the money spent for the Expo could have been used to buy food for the African countries, it could have been used better, helping the countries to improve their economy or helping the mass of immigrants that is arriving in Europe. On the other side Expo shows a lot of cultures and that is very good, it gives the opportunity to learn about other traditions.

French: Expo is a great project, its main goal is to make people realize how food is important; this time Expo is different from the others, it doesn’t only show the culture of each country but it also want to solve important problems of the world.

German: It’s a good way to inform people on how the countries are developing and on the efforts that are made for a more sustainable world.

Hungarian: Expo is a great event and a great organization, it is really worth to organize it because it brings together a lot of people who can share ideas. This year it is a little controversial as poor countries which have problem with food sustainability would get more advantages if all the money that is being spent in projecting and building pavilions would have been invested directly in those countries.

Italian: Expo is a great opportunity to show to the world that Italian people are able to organize major events despite the stereotypes that show us as lazy and inconclusive people. It’s great that we could overcome the strong criticism and the sad events that took place the day before the Expo opening. We have created a great project that can convince other countries to invest in Italy.

Lithuanian: It’s a very good opportunity to learn about food culture and traditions of other countries and to discover the problems related to the food system.

Polish: Expo brings together a lot of people and countries, it gives the opportunity to people who can’t travel to get in touch with many different nations.

Spanish: It helps people to get informed about the development of other nations and about their efforts for a sustainable world. It is a great opportunity of comparison between countries.
